All right residents of the Washington DC and Northern Virginia area, we are in for another winter storm tonight thru Tuesday morning. Please lets not panic like we also do here and rush out to buy everything from the store as if you will not be leaving your homes for weeks. You are not going to need 6 gallons of milk, 5 loafs of bread, and enough food to feed a 100 man army when there are only 3 of you. It just makes me laugh that when we get any type of snow fall in the Washington DC area that everyone freaks out like this. It is not the end of the world and the way this area is in two days it will be warm enough for the snow and ice to melt.
The biggest pet peeve that I have with snow in the area is how people drive in it here. If the roads are icy then you should drive at a safe speed and have the proper following distance between yourself and the car in front of you. I do not understand why when the roads are bad that people follow way to close, speed, and are careless. But, if it is just a little rain or a little snow people are driving as if there are 10 inches on the ground. That is a big reason for traffic and the accidents that happen. I commute from Fairfax to Alexandria each day and during the last snow storm that we got I counted 6 accidents and saw one happen on the other side of the road. Please pay attention when you are driving in icy and snowy conditions. If you need to take a call use a hands-free device or pull off to the side of the road. That is all I have to say on that note.
Lets hope this is the last winter snow storm that we see until December as I am ready for Spring and the baseball season! How else is with me?
